Adding the fourth leg to the Project Triangle...  Experience.

Project Implementation

Implementing a new project requires many different skills. It isn’t enough to link up ‘must do before/after’ tasks in MS Project. There is more to it than posting Gannt, PERT, and Kanban charts. You need to constantly be on the watch for potential problems – and figure ways around them before they happen. You need to be on the look-out for ways that you can shorten the timeline, reduce the negative impacts on current processes, and reduce costs. And you need to do all of that while keeping everyone and everything in sync. You need to be a juggler.

One key requirement that is often overlooked is the ability to communicate effectively and intelligently with all the parties involved. You need to be able to ‘speak’ different languages. You need to be able to discuss ‘right-justified null-filled fields’ with your DBA, 3 of 9 requirements with your barcode people, DO loops with your programmers, div’s with your web designers, shift differential overlaps with your HR folks, wye-delta transformers with facilities, and more. This is needed to gain trust, gain understanding, and enhance communication within the team. It becomes even more necessary when a team member is stuck and can’t see the forest for the trees. (And helps when someone is trying to put up a smokescreen.)

My background brings an abundance of experience in many fields. My engineering background lays the groundwork for addressing things logically. It forces me to pay keen attention to details, and to assure everyone is properly involved. I have successfully completed projects that range from small changes to multi-million dollar improvements, from simple upgrades to complete new product development, and has involved business verticals from retail to manufacturing, healthcare, government, and beyond.

When implementing Labor Management systems, I bring my engineering background into play by being exceptionally thorough. I also bring my other experience into play by being able to fully understand the employee’s role and what special arrangements may be required.

While I currently focus on Labor Management system implementations, I am more than able and willing to assist you with your other implementations. Having done work for grocery stores, food services, hospitals, distribution centers, arenas, and even shipyards, I’m sure that that I will feel right at home with your company.

Let me add your project to my ever-growing collection of successful projects.
